January buds
I came across these cherry buds on the trees during my winter walk today. I was drawn to the beauty of the colour especially against the bright blue sky. It was a crisp day where the cold felt all too strongly on the face, whilst also providing immense invigoration within. The sun was shining and with such striking sights it was impossible to ignore the preciosity of nature, reminding one of the vitality present with each step taken.
The bud here in some way signifies the start of January. The year beginning again just as a bud. Perhaps waiting for the right conditions and nurturing to truly blossom. Without pressure, patiently waiting for the time to bloom as it should.
January can often symbolise new beginnings. Perhaps saying goodbye to what may no longer serve us, or welcoming all that is to come. Not to underestimate the success in arriving to where you have despite the trials and tribulations that may have knocked on your door, or in fact may still be there. Maintaining what may be important to you can be quite the feat. It could also be acknowledging all that you have achieved in the past year. Nothing is too small.
January can also be of course a time where cherished memories run deep, particularly of loved ones who may no longer be with us. Additionally, certain chapters of life may have passed seeing one entering a new period. Grief may be present in all forms that it can be.
Like a bud, take time to be however you need to be. Be easy on yourself. Nurture yourself in the ways that may be required. This is just the beginning of something beautiful.
